It sits as a figure of eight across the back — a padded strap through each armpit, meeting at a pad between the shoulder blades — so the pull is spread across the upper back rather than landing in one spot. Both closures are at the back on touch tape, and a D-ring at the centre keeps the straps from twisting as you tighten them. Four sizes, measured around the chest; how long it is worn and how firmly it is set are decided by the practitioner managing the fracture.
